detonation problems....

still having problems with detonation every now and then. it usually happens around 4500+ in second gear. i'm guessing the things just getting old and tired of being dogged, but anybody got any ideas, besided just octane booster?

try pulling a little bit of timing out of it. if this is a recent problem and that fixes it, you may just need to clean up the distibuter( the advance and contacts). the springs or the terminals may be beat. also check your HEI pick up module, they dia eventually and as they go they act weird.
