car wont start/fuel relay harness HELP
car wont start/fuel relay harness HELP
I was testing the fuel relay harness for battery voltage and it DID have voltage. Then I tried to actuate the fuel pump by jumping the harness and I touched the wrong connection evidently. It sparked and now the car won't start and there is NO battery voltage to the harness. All the fuses in the fuse block appear to be good still. What the hell could have happened? Thanks.
Check the fuse near the battery. The location of that fuse is a recent subject on the tech board. This shows a Firebird engine compartment, but if you imagine that the front of this car is the right fender, it will work for a Camaro, it's in the same position relative to the battery

Actually my battery is on the right side of my Camaro. The fuse up near the battery is for the ecm memory but if the fuse is blown it will also keep the car from starting.

Stock TBI
Aluminum radiator
No smog pump
gutted factor cleaner
cam ground to crane specs
timing advanced 9 degrees
no thermostat
other than that its bone stock and ran a 16.4 @ 82 mph with earth shattering wheel hop and a 2.88 60 ft time. (this was with the rebuild and cam only)

The fuse is for more than just ECM memory, it's also fuel pump and injectors. Camaros all have the battery on the right side, that's why is said to imagine the front (top of picture)of the pictured car as the right fender of the Camaro...

LOL duh wth was I thinking! For some reason I thought you Firebird's pic showed it on the right side. Thanks for the info though cause I didn't know that fuse also was related to the fuel system.

Funny, my '88 Formula has the battery on the passenger side (right) fender since New. My Cruise control assembly used to be on the drivers side.
What do they say about a picture being worth a thousand words. Judging from the overspray on the hood bumpers I would say that this car had some serious front end repair work done to it.
