when i took my car to the track i was only able to run a 15.3 at 90mph. i was figuring on at least a 14.8-15.0 at 92-95mph. the engine was heat soaked on (needle was just below or at 220 every run). How much quicker do you think it would be if the engine was operating at a normal temp. When i used a g tech i was consistently running 14.7@95 or so every time. any thoughts.

Axle/Gears: Debatable . . .
The g-tech is supposed to be accurate within .10 And yes your car will run better in cooler weather because the air has more density to it. A lower water temp can also have an effect on your e.t. Try tossing some bags of ice on the manifold before you run it and after the car cools down. You'll be surprised what an iced intake can do. Remove the bags before you run and make sure you don't have any water dripping off because youll track water all down the track which can cause a wreck.

other than that its bone stock and ran a 16.4 @ 82 mph with earth shattering wheel hop and a 2.88 60 ft time. (this was with the rebuild and cam only)

Every car loves a cooler intake.
To run faster at the track:
1.)Wire up the fan to always be on to keep engine cool.
2.)Use more water than anti freeze 80/20 or all water and antirust aditive when you know temps aren't going to be below freezing (duh).
3.)Ice the intake is a good idea, every 10 degree's is like an extra horse, not sure but that is what I've been told from many that do it at englishtown.
4.)Turn off the engine in the lanes but KEEP the fan running. Don't leave fan on and engine off for more than a half hour.
5.)160 Robershaw thermo
6.)Ram air or cold air setup (cheap way is to use dryer hose, zip tie, removed high beam

7.)Most importantly race on a cool day and bright sun (cool air and sticky track = good times)
Am I forgetting something? I think that's about it for cheap mods. More expensive stuff could be an aftermarket radiator. If you want to be a first at something then peltiers could be an option. They're electronic devices that are ice cold on one side and hot on the other. Lots of computer overclockers use them. They aren't cheap and you would need a lot of them to get some results. If you had a lot of them then you would need a massive battery because even the smallest units take 80 watts (more than most headlights). Sorry, went off on a limb to try and cover ever possible option.
