is it possible to move the fan switch to the intake??? more w/in

sorry about the duplicate post (i also posted this on the tech board) but i want some input from you TBI guys as well...

my fan switch right now is in my passenger's side head, which i think is the same place it is in all thirdgens. here is my question...i have an aftermarket intake meant for a carb so it has a lot of plugged up holes. can i switch the fan switch to one of these holes in the intake? it does have coolant behind it, so i dont see why not, so i thought i would ask you guys.

what do you think?

thanks,

-brian

nope, that style of switch relies on teh pressure created by the expansion of teh head when it gets hot to trigger it. if you put it into the intake there is no telling what would happen. if you want to relocate or make a manual fan set up real easdy there is a trigger/thermostat set up made by flex-a-lite that works very well.

I was under the impression that the fan temp switch messured water temp, not expansion of the cyl head. Any more info on this?

Z28Boy: Why do you want to move the sensor? If it is doing its job where it is, why move it?

Jon...
the coolant temperature switch is in the intake...could you be confusing that with the fan switch??? i have always had the fan switch where it is suppsoed to go, in the haed, until now, when i moved it to the intake.
