ya NJ speedster is only running low 14s with it I really don't like the performer. The intake ports are tiny. the TBI specific intake is a tuned intake. It even has a crossover built in to balance out each side of the manifold. The cost is about $205. EGR carb performer looks to be $150. how much is an adapter plate? that $50 differance is starting to shrink even more...

The adaptor is $45 free shipping from summit racing. The advantage of having an adaptor plate is the idea that you can put on any kind of intake, not limited to the performer.

i really can't say i see the performer tbi as a limiting intake. it flows very good, just like the regular performers, and is more than enough for any normal(no big cam) tbi motor, i think my car makes that point rather well. the speed isn't in which manifold you have anyway, it's in a better than stock set of heads and a good exhaust. no manifold in the world can overcome those factory pieces.

Well my orginal use for the carb. performer was so I can use a carb nos kit witch is much cheaper than a kit for EFI.

not to down on NJSpeeder here, or his car, but everyone is jizzing all over his car and he runs only 95 mph in the quarter, has a set of heads that run a grand, to run 95 mph in the quarter it doesnt take any real exemplary parts unless they are used to crutch really crappy parts (performer heads and peanut cam)

heads set the stage for everything else..
that manifold was designed with trucks in mind, not race cars, but with good heads, is enough for what he runs

Im going to get vortec heads form an old van\truck in a junk yard. That way I dont spend $1000 dollars on heads. As far as cam Im waiting on my friends to take out hes cam on his 4th gen camaro. so.... does that mean the tbi performer will be enough?

um.. It seems like putting a 4barrel carb NOS plate on a TBI would be a bad idea. What about all the area under the adapter that is shooting NOS but isn't getting air from directly on top? seems like a FOGGER or a TBI specific NOS plate would be a better idea.
