help designing spacer/adapter combo

hey guys, I could use an opinion or two.
I am having a combination adapter plate (example holley model) and spacer (example TD products throttle body spacer).

So far the design will be a 1" thick plate for a square bore monifold, with 2" inch Throttle body holes. Much like what you can buy from Holley only thicker. I am trying to get the best of both worlds. I am making the holes 2" to be used with a 454 TBI.
Do you think I will need to have some material machined of on the linkage side for clearance?
This is being made for free as a favor, so I figured I would incorpeate the best of both worlds.
What do you think? Input is welcome.

One other thing. The holes on the the holley adapter plate is offset to the rear. Does anyone know if this is for a specific reason, or could I Put it in the center of the plate.

I'm also going to be making my own adapter plate for a rpm air gap manifold. I will be making it so the tb is in the middle of the intake opening. It looks to me that you will need to make a new bracket for the throttle ,tv cables and do some work on the fuel lines also. Other than that it a snap.

Oh yah, don't forget to cut a hole in the hood.

Ive designed a new spacer, my holes are in the middle. I think holleys is so that the linkages line up perfectly so no linkage mods need to be done, plus ive heard of RUMORs that tbi has fuel distribution problems, maybe they are trying to overcome that.
