What may be causing this.......can this be a result of the car not having been runned for a full year.....thanxs

What kind of a knocking? Does it make a bang once only, or is it a metal hammering type of sound that gets louder the harder you hit the gas? A pinging sound only hear while the engine is under load, especially at lower rpms?

 

Its mostly when im hiting the gas slow and accelerating but once i step on it i dont get no more sound

I have the exact same problem.. only while accelerating and its worse at lower RPMs like especially when im going real slow and it shifts into second and im accelerating but at low rpm's.. knock knock.
