Does anyone know of any good books full of cool automotive knowledge? All of the ones I've seen are full of ways to modify your car to make it faster. I'm looking for a book on the thoery behind backpressure, cams, ignition, etc.
Anyone got any suggestions?

the lingenfelter book is ok for building up a small block

 

I've already seen a million books on building a smokin' small block. The problem is that's all I can find. I'm looking for a book which explains the thoeries behind the internal combustion engine and how manipulating diffenent parameters of the engine will affect its output.

 

vizards does that. thats why i bought it, so i could learn about some of the fluid dynamics and what goes on when designing manifolds and modifying carbs/tbi stuff to work better.
