Help Please!!!

I own a 92 R.S. 305 t.b.i. w/ 700R4 tranny. I ran a 16.5 with chip, borla muffler, and k&n air filter. Over the winter I Changed to the open element air filter. I went racing last night and was getting torn up by 5.0 stangs. I need to beat these mustangs. Anything I can do without doing any internal engine mods. Thank You

Unfortunatly you will have to spend a little money to beat those guys. They are starting with 225hp and you have maybe 185 now. Gears help but get pricey. Get a new cam and intake (about $400) and you will be close. Look around this ? is asked all the time and there are plenty of posts to give you an idea.

i didnt used to be but am now and advocate for saying save your $ for a 350.

if you want to keep the 305. it will cost you roughly another 1300 to be beating those stangs. and the sad part is you wont be winning by much.

find a used 350. even if its a truck motor. rebuild it, and spend the money on that. think long term not short term. and in time you will be tearing them up. not the other way around.
