help fuel pump

second week in a row i manage to break something else but i need your advice or someones knowledge to make sure i fix the right stuff..
while changing my spark plugs i found a stray wire on the passenger side.. asked my step dad about it he put it on the starter didnt help my car.. my car wouldnt turn over anymore it cranks but doesnt turn over..
when i ground this wire out you can hear a clicking from the fuel pump relay. did we fry the fuel pump relay? you cant hear my fuel pump turn on at all anymore. i cant find a fuse anywhere my ecm fuse is good so i am wondering is it the fuel pump relay?
thanks
Shawn

What happens when you don't connect the wire to anything? Does the car start? Check the fuse that is next to the battery. You might have blow that. Tell us what is working and was isn't. Also tell me what color, size, fuseable link?, where does the wire go etc. Give us as much info as possible.

when i dont attach the wire it doesnt start either.. when i ground this wire the fan works and if it isnt grounded the fan doesnt work i couldnt find the fuse for the fuel pump or at least i dont think i did i found a fuse next to the battery and that fuse is fine... but i thought it was for my alarm.. i'll have to check the car out in the mourning again... how much does a relay cost me if in fact it turns out to be that.. i think it has to do with either my fuel pump relay or my fuel pump fuse if i can find it... any advice?
