unplugged IAC. Goodbye hesitation, you a$$hole!
I was having a problem with hesitation. I tried at least ten times to reset IAC according to the tech article along with timing and TPS adjustments. No matter what I did, the engine loped at idle and hesitated like a mother****er. I raised the idle rpm's after bypassing the IAC as instructed but when the bitch was plugged back in and controlled by the computer once more the idle rpm's would just go WAYYYYYYYYY back down and hesitation on acceleration was the result. I just unplugged the IAC last night and drove around for a while. No hesitation. No engine codes. No more pain in the *** .

My car has been suffering from stutter problems off idle, it just "shimmies" till I reach higher rpms then it smoothes out explain that.
I thought I would give it a try, unplugged the iac and engine now idles at 2,000rpm so I plugged it back in. Yours do that speedlvr? Maybe if I would have drove it I could tell more?

No vacuum loss anywhere. All areas were checked.
My car was just shimmying off idle too until highr rpms. I tried EVERYTHING and nothing has fixed the problem except unplugging the IAC. Car idles at around 1500. But I can live with that, I can't live with that hesitation ****. I think of hesitation as a postponed ejaculation when you really wanted it RIGHT THEN!

Try new 8mm wires. That's what cured my problem. If a wire is bad your plugs won't fire under idle so try that. Most parts stores will let you return them if they don't help. Another thing you might want to get checked out is the distrib cap. Get new points etc and try that. Pull a couple spark plugs and look at them after you've let the car run like crap. Don't pull them out after it's been sitting for a while, that doesn't help as much. Tell us what they look like.

A malfunctioning IAC is a vacuum leak. My camaro(TPI) did that until a few weeks ago, popped in a new IAC. Fixed it right up. I cost $25.

I got a brand new IAC and it just did'nt do a thing for it and I have 8mm wires and the dist cap is fine. All wires are new and all plugs are new. IAC is not needed for my car so f*ck it. Thanks very much for the info. I DO wish it would have worked but my brain was warped after trouble shooting for 3 months. Praise the Lode! It's fixed.
