INFO. Holley's new TBI's will be using GM injectors

Just got off the phone with Holley Performance. I was feeling them out for information checking to see if the tech rep had any info on them coming out with anything larger in a 2bbl tbi throttle body. Also asked him if they had plans for switching to the GM Delco injectors. He said that they were, they had been using the more chrysler bosch style as we all know. They WILL be shipping their units with gm delco style injectors soon on their 950 units. the others he wasnt sure of. If your Holley dealer has old stock or doesnt sell a lot of product all the time, they will have the old style.

I thought this information would be good for you all to know. So if i were you, i wouldnt be buying a holley tbi until they all switch. it would suck to buy one then one week later realize that if you waited you could have got it with better injectors.

I was glad to hear that they were NOT coming out with a larger 2bbl any time in the near future. I am slightly worried about introducing mine to the market, and then having them produce their own larger variation that was slightly different and cheaper or something and i would be FUBAR out of $$ spent on my own creation. So even if that happens i hope ive built some loyalty with you guys, and that you would take that into consideration. Thanks.

Even if they did, mine should be cheaper because im not out to rape anybody like a large corporation like them may be.

I was told that they were going to use a differenct style Bosch injector (with the same Holley-injector pod design, not the "GM" injectors pod design) by the reman guys.

The GM injector swap would entail a pod redesign and I have heard nothing about this... Guess we'll have to wait and see.

maybe they guy was confused about what i was asking him to confirm. i told him i'd heard a rumor. but he did say that they were going to be using the gm style. he corrected me and said that actually the bosch were more common tbi style since chrysler vehicles have used tbi more than gm did. i then said, so is holley going to use the good delco ones or keep using the cheap bosch ones. he said they were changing them. i guess he didnt confirm that they were changing to gm though now that i think about it. hmmm. yup, guess well wait and see. either way. im not going to care much.

I just finished up with a Holley 2bbl install. They have changed the design of their injectors but they are not the GM style ones. These are very similar to the old injectors but the caps are different. They now connect with a right angle on the top of the injector and a weather pack type of plug instead of the old round plugs that slide down over the pins on top of the injector. Otherwise they look the same as the old style Holley injectors with the filter screen surrounding the body of the injector... not like the metal cased GM style units.

The MAJORITY of the complaints they had was with the connectors and the injectors momentarily not working, which was caused by the injector connectors most of the time, either corrosion and/or misinstallation of the "peg" not into the center of the little metal connector wires.

The redesign is better than nothing and will probably cure 50% of the bs.
