'92 Camaro / '87 TA -- How much are they alike?

I just picked up a '92 RS with a 305 TBI setup and was wondering how much of my car is like my Dad's '87 TA - also a 305 TBI setup?

Are the stock ECM PROM's interchangeable? Would his TA benefit at all from my stock PROM?

Also, will all of the TBI mods listed in the tech articles apply to his car too?

Thanks for any replies,

Thomas.

Let me tell the low down on what'll swap and what won't. ECMs and eproms...no. I don't know what the 87 has but I thought TBI started in 88. The 88 isn't going to work either because the ecm is different than the 89-92. Find out what the ecm is and that'll tell you if the chip will work or now. Some things to thing about, why swap in a eprom stock for stock? Also if one's an auto and other is standard....no go. Everything else on the car should swap .

Thanks for the info.

I wasn't planning on swapping PROM's or anything, it's just questions like this that help me understand the complete picture.
(his is also a 5-speed BTW)

You gave me the exact info I was looking for on the ECM .... his is different than mine

No TBI on the '87? Ok.
I could have sworn he had a TBI setup. Maybe I'm thinking of another car??
So I assume his is a carb then.

Thanks again,

Thomas.
