Fuel Gage

My fuel gauge stays way past full then after a little over 115 miles it goes between a 1/4 and 1/2. I know I run out at between 1/4 and 1/2. I have replaced the gas tank, sender, fuel pump, and fuel filter(for something else). This still hasn't solved my problem. I have heard that if you put carb cleaner in the tank it can clean orut your sender and give you a accurate fuel gauge. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

Mine does this and I am about to go fuel cell if I can't find a way to fix it. I was looking for a 84-87 Carb pick up and sending unit as I want my pump out of the tank. The don't make them anymore.

I know a 15 gallon tank that should fit in the hatchwell, but I don't want to butcher the car by sealing the hatchwell off and running lines through the hatchwell.

Anyone know if this will severly hurt handeling or acceleration? I see alot of stock vehicles with the fuel tanks after the rear end.

My gauge was stuck straight up all the time.

Was the gauge. Changed the cluster ($50) and fixed it.

Mine does that exact same thing...but I don't think it is the gauge. Can anyone give me a site that has the entire sending unit assembly for a TBI that isn't an arm and a leg. Chevy is wanting over $500 for the entire thing...and I NEED to get my fuel pump replaced and would like to get the gauge to read. I like doing math and everything but having to calculate how many miles I have driven and how many more I can go on one tank gets kinda old. thanks all

don't know where you can get one for cheaper, but i know i'd be damn sure it wasnt my gauge before i went out and spent 500 bucks with the conclusion of "i don't think it's the gauge". just give/take ground to your gauge, if the needle moves without any problem then it's not your fuel gauge.

Mine used to go/be empty at the 1/4 mark.
After I put in a new Fuel pump and filter, the gage reads empty at the 1/2 tank line.

If I fill it up, the gage moves past the Full tank line.

Strange....
