How to improve start-up

I have ask questions about this subject but got little response so here i try again....I was to get to the point were it is turn key and "bamn" the car turns on.....Right now it takes it a couple of cranks when its cold.....Ignition coil,spark plug and wires.......any ideas are welcomed

Happy, my 91rs is stock and does the same thing, takes a second or two before it fires up. I think this is just an inherent problem with the tbi system in that the fuel pressure bleeds off after it sits for a while. Try starting the car cold and as soon as it starts cut it off then restart it and see if it still takes as long as it did the first time you started it, if it fires right up then you have found the reason it takes so long on the initial start up.

When it is cold it takes a second or two but after it has been running then start up is quicker......Its only when its been sitting for 1 hour or more

This is not a problem and I belive GM did it to save the injectors from having to retain the pressure and possibly give problems over time.

does it start. then i wouldnt worry about it. as long as you dont have dead starters every so often. but then, just a get a napa lifetime warrentied one.
