Here the situation....I bought a LO3 for 600 bucks and have been using it as my daily driver but problems are becoming apparent....It is leaking oil into the heads and thus creating a cloud of smoke when i floor it....The ignition is too slow and the transmisison had to be rebuilt.....my question is if i should keep investing on my lo3 or should i buy a 350 tpi and rebuild that???What am i looking at money wise to get the lo3 in respectable condition or getting the 350 tpi from a junkyard

 

I say it depends on what the rest of the car looks like. Rebuilding the trans and getting a engine (go 350) is gonna run you at least $2000.

If the body and interior are in good shape, i say go for it. If they are ratted out, I would sell it and find a better starting point.

My transmission was just rebuilt and the interior is in awesome shape.......My dad paints cars so my exterior is black and lovely.......im probably do the 350 and drop 2 grand on it and then do what ive always wanted to do which is rebuild a nova ss or 70's camaro/firebird
