I need help i have a 88 iroc 305 tbi when i first start the engine any day and the car engine is cold it stumbles and runs like crap but as soon as i leave the driveway and get to about the 3rd stop sign maybe 1/4 mile if that it is running fine whats up i have a code scanner but i think my check engine light is not working because it dosen't blink and or go on when i put it in the acc position please help i am selling the car soon and don't like selling a problem

 

leaky injectors is my guess. its got gas leaked down into the manifold by the time you start it in morning or whenever your first start of the day is.

so the engine has to run super rich for a while. then all is well and its runnin normal.

i would say, if you have time. try leaving it sit overnight sometime. then in the morning. take the airfilter off and open up the throttle bores. smell gas? if so prop the gas pedal down for bout 10 minutes, then try to start it. that will allow the gas to fume out of the manifold because the bores will be open.
