i was offered a set of ported LT1 heads, pretty sure they won't just bolt on being Gen II style heads. he said he flow benched them against a set of ford 302 performer heads and they flowed better. offered them to me for $300. deal or no deal?

It can be done but it isn't worth it as stated above. Do a few searches to read up on the matter but it is a fairly involved process to use Gen II castings. Not worth the trouble. I would sell those heads and look into an aftermarket set (trick flow or World have nice 58cc chamber heads). On an LO3 I would stick with stock ported Gen I castings (vortec, TBI or TPI) and go from there.
