How to use TBI as a TB for a MPI system?

since this board isn't moving much I'll throw this out. If I wanted to move to a TPI style system with 8 injectors on a single plane intake, how would I use the stock or 454 TB to put on top of it? assume we are using a TPI computer.

Use the TBI unit as an air meter and a place to mount the TPS and IAC. (maybe even extra fuel with the correct controller but I digress) You might look to edlebrocks multi point intake if you want to make it a bolt on affair... or use one of the holley/weiand intakes that are already plumbed for EFI... use a 4bbl to TBI adapter plate. Another option includes drilling and the intake for injectors bungs. Look to holley for one stop shopping for the ods and ends like fuel rails, regulators, etc.

Here is how the intake conversion is done:
-accurately measure the distance between the holes in the injector rails
-mark the intake runners that distance apart.
-assemble injectors and rails together
-Test fit the intake assembled with tbi unit on the motor to get a feel for how the injector rails are going to fit.
- use some sort of jig to hold the intake and drill all holes slightly oversized.
- with injectors assembled in rail, install bungs on injectors and install in intake... (this will make sure all bungs get installed at the same height)
-again, test fit assembled intake on engine and check for fuel rail fit.
- epoxy or tig weld bungs in place
- grind off excess bung material from the inside of the runners

that would be beautiful. used 8 tiny injectors for the drivability and idle. something under/near 30#. Then have some small 4cyl fiero or something injectors in a pod, on top of one of my tbi's. slap some nos on there. and connect a secondary nos controller that will fire the extra injectors, and you could have a perfect street daily driver and a whooooopassssss on the track.

You asked and I told. I'm not really sure why you asked the question. That is all you do other than hooking the tps and iac up to the new harness as well as figuring out where all the vacuum lines will hook up.

Whats your next question?

Just out of curiosity...what kind of benefits would a system like this offer? It's a pretty interesting idea

Later,
