Fuel pump won't stop priming.Car running to rich!

Hey guys
I just rerouted my engine harness and cut out alot off unneeded wire to clean things up abit and I believe I might have goofed up somewhere. When I hook my battery back up my fuel pump comes on and stays in prime mode. When I drive the car and I punch it it bogs down then kicks up full blast.I can smell unburnt fuel in the exhaust.I have to disconnect the battery every time I shut the car off.Does any body know what wire I might have crossed to cause this? I have checked all the wiring from the fuel pump to thefuel pump relay and the only thing I can think off is somehow when I unhooked the big plug in on the driverside firewall I might not have gotten something hooked right.I really need help on this.

There are two basic paths to provide power to the fuel pump: fuel pump relay, and the oil pressure switch.

Unplug the relay and see if the pump stops, if not, then unplug the oil pressure switch and see if it stops. If it still dosn't stop then there is power being applied directly to the fuel pump.

If one or the other stops the pump, then go further with that one.

A word of caution, do not ground the wire from the ECM that drives the fuel pump relay. It supplies +12 v to the relay and will pop the transistor in the ECM if grounded at the wrong time.

RBob.

Well I found out why the fuel pump was staying on.The pigtail for the oil pressure switch had abit of the wires exposed from age.they were overlapping each other causing the pump to run.The problem I am still having is the poor performance. If I gun the car it feels like it bogs down for a second and then it takes off.The car seems to feel like something is holding the engine back. The car shifts to soon.I think the pigtail for my TCC soleniod is going bad.The reason I say that is that the wires look pretty bad and it didn't seem to want to click all the way down when I put it back on.I also cut out the EGR solenoid wires just to see if the car would perform the same without everything hooked up.(been chasing an EGR bug for awhile.I still have enough wire to put it back in) Could these be causing this?

well I figured it out.I didn't have one of the grounds that bolt to the back of the engine put back on.duh it runs fine now.
