manifold is a thumbs up, i love mine. edelbrock cams are abig thumbs down though. look for a used LT1 cam if you can. you'll prolly be able to pick it up for cheaper and it happens to be better for our motors.

Thanks for the input...I was just wondering if the pre-made match, i.e. the manifold with that certain cam was any good...but I take it it's not...so what cam should I go for? I want to buy a Summit, 'cause they're cheap...should I stick with the 214 that the Edelbrock would be? Is that the magic number to go with the manifold? Sorry, but I'm clueless about cam selection...LT1 sounds pretty good...if I can find one around here. Suggestions? Thanks again...

look for a used LT1 cam. you can usually pick one up for between 30-50 bucks. since it is a roller, just like our stockers, they don't wear out unless a lifter goes bad. roller cams are safe to buy used.

Ever hear of the Holley/Weiand intake? TONS better than the Edelbrock and the fit is sweet.
Check it out at www.holley.com. The 300-49 is the one I have. The 300-66 is another option, I think it is a higher rise.

After years of troublesome stories about the holley TBI intake, I'd take the Edelbrock one any day.

Buy a Performer Carb intake and a Holley TBI adapter plate. Then, use the LT1 or LT4 OEM roller cam. Good stuff. If you really want a flat-hyd, go with COMP XE249-12.
ON a (non-stock!!!) TBI'd 350cid, the 3702 Edel camshaft got around 235+ hp or so. Not to shabby but a lot of time was put into custom PROM work on the dyno. BTW, the 3702 cam is/was made for the L05 (?) 305 V8 A LONG TIME ago but Edelbrock says it was custom made for TBI all of a sudden. Hmmm = advertising! It even says that cam is for both engines in their catalogs!!! Be careful. It is a REAL mellow cam, too. 194/214deg at .050" with like .396"/.442" lift.

Tried that on the dyn, didn't work with up to XE250 cam, might work with bigger cam, but I doubt it. An RPM would be MUCH better than a torker II, but the Performer can fit the 2" bores handily and has nice enough runners.
ya the torker setup would have to use all the RPM the engine can give with a nice cam too. Usualy 6500 RPM with a hydraulic roller cam.
I was looking at the torker 2 at PAW and I think the weiand version would be better. the Edelbrock version has thin walls and they taper up. The Weiand small plenum single plane has more material if you need to grind on the sides to fit the wide TBI unit.
hey FB, you ever go to www.jeepsunlimited.com ? I'm YJ4LIFE over there if I haven't told you yet

I'm just about to list some stuff for sale over there. I can send you an email if you are looking for V8 conversion stuff and/or 31x12.50x15 BFG AT Tires???
I still like dual-plane manifolds over the TorkerII. The runners on the RPM are actaully quite a bit bigger than the Torkers, FYI. The RPM's on good heads (even Votecs) can sing to 6500 with ease, slightly more with gasket matching.

ya send me a list of the stuff for sale. I already got 31" BFG AT KOs. I'm looking for bigger now. You have finger on any TJ flares?
I got no problemns with the Performer RPM I just don't like the Performer. The runners on the torker2 looked small like the performer. The RPMs looked .2" taller I think and a bit wider too. I have an idea on how to turn the Performer RPM into a TBI "tuned" intake. I've discussed it with a couple members on here.

no TJ flares. You have the 10.50 wide tires. Mine are 12.50 wide. Much better for the 350!!! Guess they are too much for OEM motor, though. and need more lift, too... I'm going to 35x14.50x15 Mickey Thompson Baja Belted HP's... f'ing expensive...
All I know is that you can put mellow cams (ie Comp XE250) into a 350cid with moderate compression (9.0:1 max) and EASILY get 300hp with a Performer manifold. Yeah, you can get more for sure with the same combo and RPM, but with a slight loss of low-end/mileage with low rpm od. If that is no matter, the RPM is great. For a drag car/weekender, the RPM is best, but for a ddriver of 100miles per day that will NEVER see a track, the Performer is best, IMO.
