tbi for 350 HO?

Is the tbi big enough for the engine, I think I recall that the stock tbi can only go up to 300 Hp right, so do I have to get a new one if so which one the ederbrock one or the holley, I am also pretty sure that the intake manifold will not fit it because it has Vortec heads and you must get a Vortec manifold but it is a good idea to get a new one anyways, AND about the computer don’t you have to get a custom prom, how hard is it, hey jprevost you got the 350 HO right is there any special program that you have to buy just for tbi? Or does it work on the one that program tpi also.
As you can tell I am a beginner at all of this stuff and I just need a little bit of help to get started,
Thanks for all of your help.

What do you want to do? I'm confused with the question about programs. The stock TB unit will work but the larger 2" bore units are best. You'll definatly need larger injectors, the 305 injectors won't supply enough fuel. You'll want either 55 or 65 injectors. All 350 trucks with TBI have 55 and the 65 were on later caprice cop cars.
If you are going to keep the stock hood get the performer vortec intake from edelbrock, the RPM is taller and I had a hard timing getting everything to fit, not worth it but I plan on getting a new hood.
I found that the best plug and play chip with ME setup (RPM intake and holley 670cfm TB w/ #65 injectors) was the 89 Caprice L05 eprom/chip. This eprom was the best starting point, the stock eprom for our L03 engine is really ruff and will make you run rich. E-mail me if you want help with custom eprom stuff. You don't NEED a custom chip but it does help, just ask the other guys that have done a 305-350 TBI swap and they'll all tell you that a custom eprom was a great inventment.
