I am looking at putting a supercharger on my 89 rs 305 tbi. If someone could give me a clue as to what I would need to do this mod that would be great. And also brand like paxson, vortec, asi, ect...

I'm pretty sure that ATI makes a supercharger for TBI (intercooled, too). You might want to try their website. Before you spend your money on a supercharger, know that you need to do a LOT of work to your valvetrain to make sure it holds up and supports a S/C. Exhaust is also very important. Like Pablo says, get air out before you get air in. I don't claim to be an expert. These are just things I hear .

Snuf, could you/someone post a link to that carb/TBI Super?

BTW, does Whipple make a bolt-under the carb/TBI superchargre for Serpentine belt setups, yet? Maybe they already do for all I know.

FB,

I'm pretty sure they do. I just read an article in Sport Truck Mag about them putting one on a 1996 1/2 ton. I'm sure that's a serp. belt. I would like to get a Whipple for my car, but I don't think they'll clear the hood. You gotta Jeep right? It should fit in yours.

I don't think whipple makes a super for our camaros, but they do make the for the TBI trucks with basically the same engine as us.

I know several companies make the centrifugal type for our cars, can't remember exactly which ones though.

I still want a roots-type blower for TBI.
and not a whipple, they are different, twin screw will not provide as much power as say a Holley Megablower.

I had a roots style on my 92 firebird 355 tbi.

Never got it to run right so i dumped it and put a carb.

Later i found a huge vacuum leak but I had alread sold the projection TBI and didnt want to use my stock one. If ANYONE is doing this install shoot me an email, i have lots of good info.
