Reading Plugs
Reading Plugs
My 95 TBI trucks plugs always look really lean.(very white, white flaky electrode) Do all TBIs run extreamly lean at idle or just off idle? I took it out and ran it hard through the first three gears, shut it off and coasted to a stop. I checked a plug and saw just the slightest tint of tan. I have made my regulator ajustable, should I increase the fuel pressure until the plugs are a noticable tan or brown after a full throttle pass? Or is this normal. Thanks

My truck has run that way since I bought it new in 1992. MANY Mods later and I still run it the same way. Never been a a problem that I didn't cause. I had my heads of getting some machine work done earlier in the year and the pistons looked really good and there was no carbon buildup in the head or on the valves. The valves were all a nice tan color. So I say your fine. You can check out www.bharris.org to see my truck and the current mods on it. I used to run a Paxton supercharger on it but the paxton kept tearing up.
