OK I bumped up the Idle now it will keep running......and I got my chip back from Fastchip and the timing is set on 6* BTDC as they suggest. NOW its still backfiring when I hit the gas and still REAL LOW on power...........Do I need 350 injectors?????? I am using the Stock INjectors now with the LT4 cam. When I pull the #1 plug its very black!!!

what do the spark plugs look like. Have checked or changed your fuel pressure. I would try uping your fuel pressure if the plugs are WHITE. If you feel you need 350 injectors and you might, I might still have a set laying around for $30 shipped for the pair.

Hey thanks for the reply, however I was way off base. I found the car running very rich!!! I had to back fuel pressure way off. Thanks though

If the car runs SUPER rich it should still run and miss down low but get better around 2500. When my car was running dog rich it didn't backfire one burp. Well...until the fuel injectors came off and started a little fire (Holley crap). I don't know why the plugs are coming out black. It doesn't make any sence. Are they black after you've had it running at idle for a while? Did you try my little TPS sensor "flick" trick? Does that make the car run worse or better?

Hey glad to hear from you. Well the car is still bad. I did your TPS trick and it did nothing. I used a friends Auto X-ray and all it would tell me that the computer would not respond. It will not idle and then at times it will, however when i hole the throttle open it will run.......Also you can see the timing jump from 6* BTDC and then go to full advance at only idle. (past 12* BTDC)

Do you think the computer is bad????

This is screaming IGNITION problem. Scrap the MSD for now. Go back to stock setup completely. See if any of this helps. It sounds like a bad ignition system from what you just said about the timing advance. I really doubt the ecm or eprom are bad. The only time the ecm goes bad is when you have a short and then you'll fry the ecm and get that strobe light SES light. I would bet money it isn't the ecm or the eprom, remember we installed my ecm and nothing changed, still irregular, it ran good for a while then bang. Then tried to restart and it didn't, then it did, all FUBAR!!! I'm almost certain it's in the ignitions system. I bet you're getting a faulty ignition code, it doesn't display as an SES light in my car for some reason, but I had that problem when I didn't have something hookedup. E-mail me if you find the ignition to be fine and I have one last plan of attack that can't be talked about on the board.
