Prices and Best Items for 305 upgrades

ALright don't botch at me, I searched all the posts. So I know an flat based open element air filter is the first thing I should get. I already have daul exhuast on it. However I didn't install it the previous owner did and I'm not sure what type it is, they installed it from the engine back.

I've heard Elder Block Open Element Air Filter alot, whats the general cost of these? As I plan on doing this first. And whats the best recommend OEAF?

Second, I've heard the term FLOWMASTER alot, but I'm not to filmair with its meaning. You know an terms section would do this site alot of good.

How much does the flowmaster cost? And what do headers do? I heard on one post that 1 5/8 headers will get 300+HP at most? What are the best headers? Cost? I'm learning here. I just want to do my camaro right.

DOn't chew my *** off if these question seems like the rest, cuase I read all them. I just have follow up questions. Basically I'm asking what the performance and costs of these mods would range me.

hey tas since you seem to be the exhaust guy that answers all of the exhaust questions is it really true that 1 5/8 headers will get 300+HP at most. because i am getting a really good deal on some ederbrock headders for 160 and that inclueds a used 3" gutted cat and the stock old 3"cat back that came off the guys car and the headders are brand new only had it on for about a week and was wondering if i would have to get a new one because i have a 350 the gm preformance on that produces 330hp, thanks tas.
oh if any one else wants to respond feel free

you should be able to get more than 300HP but people feel when your at that level, 1-3/4 SLPs are better. The main point is to free up flow. I've seen people put 1-5/8 headers on a 440 dodge but they had big exaust after that. If you get the headers for cheap it should be fine. Most Mustangs have that size shorty headers too but to make up for it they have really free flowing exaust after that. get the idea?
