Rear end gears!

My 89 rs has got the stocker gears in the rear end. I think they are 273's or something like that. If I change them will the car be more fun to drive (launch off the line), and how much work is involved in swapping the gears?

it needs to be professionaly done 99% of the time. It takes magnetic dial gauges, hydraulic presses, etc., and experiance. Check the local "Recycler" I saw places advertising GM original gears, parts, and labor for $400.
