ok, here's the deal. i found an LT1 cam that i couldn't refuse. but, i don't have the $$$ for headers right now. i'm a little excited about the cam and was wondering if installing it before i get my headers in (end of summer) could possibly do any damage to my internals-too much pressure from not being able to extract the exhaust fast enough. am i just being paranoid? any opinions you guys have would help me a lot.

Yes you are being paranoid,but I think I would wait and do it all at once.You would notice a biger gain.
