NEED HELP!!!! PLEASE

I am looking in to buy a fuel pressure regulator for my TBI but as I look in the Haynes repair manual it says not to take the four bolts off of the fuel meter cover...... WHY????? Is there anything wrong as to me changing the regulator..... ALSO what kind of TBI spacer should i get???

Look at the tech section on this website, their is an article about making your regulator adjustable, and a ton of other good ones for TBI. If I remember right, their is a spring or something else small inside, thats probably why the book says don't take it apart. Those books were never written with gearheads in mind, they are intended to keep the average person from messing up their car.

Oh, and as for the spacer, Turbo City has them is varying heights for the least money I have seen, most are an outrageous $75! You could make one out of hard plastic( like a cutting board or something ), use the gasket as a template. However, most people say these don't really do much, definately not worth a ton of money.
