Which fuel pump should I get?
Well, it turns out I need a new fuel pump. I am considering putting in a new engine eventually, so I want the flexibility with a more 'powerful' fuel pump.
I have been considering either a walbro 255 or a 190. If I end up getting a rebuilt 350TBI with say... 350HP, will the 190 hold up? Also, will I run into any problems putting in the 255/190 as far as pressure, regulation, and installation issues?
I read a thread that gave great instructions on how to install a new fuel pump without destroying your car, so I'm aware of what needs to be done. I just want to make sure the pump works and it's what I need.

Re: Which fuel pump should I get?
There have been a few reports of the 255 over powering the stock regulator and raising the fuel pressure. The ports in the TB are too small to return all of the volume back to the tank. The 190 is a proven performer and will support more power than TBI will. If you can tune your own chips I would get the 255 and run higher than stock FP and retune for the added pressure. This way you'll have room to grow if you move on to another form of FI someday.

I agree. I know a few nearly stock TBI folk that have run the 255 without any problems. There are two 255L versions however, and one doesn't produce the same pressure. I can't remember which version I run but every car has been lucky so far and has not damaged the diaphram in the regulator. If I had no intentions of running an LSX combo in the future I would have chosen the 190 for the reasons BMonte mentioned.
