WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY CAR!!!
It all started with the install of the Edelbrock TBI intake. The car idles really hard and shakes. It hangs at rpm and hesitates comming back to an idle. I am also running extremely rich. I have changed the TPS and the sensor in the sir cleaner. The car is at a dealer now and they are stumped to. They did a complete ignition check and say that is it fine (no burnt plugs or wires). They also looked at the oil and it is clean and no coolant or anything. Fuel filters can't be clogged because I am running so rich. Can't have a broken valvue spring because the car smooths out at high RPM. My mods are in my sig. What can be wrong. My timing is at 0*, will advancing it help? Also they said that maybe the spacer is the cause. I AM SO FRUSTRATED.... All my hoses and vacuum lines are routed correctly and intact as well.

TPS sensor is wired backwards. I did this when I had to go to the older style TPS connector. The TPS voltage was high at idle and low at WOT. Around 3000 the car was fine. Have them double check your TPS sensor voltage is around .5 at idle and 4.5 at WOT. They don't need to have the car running to check TPS voltage, just a scanner and the key in the on position. If this isn't the problem then you need to find another dealer to do your car trouble shooting. If they have a scanner then they can see the problems OR they would know the distrib is so and so degrees off, etc.
Please, if you can, get a printout of all the values at idle and if any trouble codes are being sent. What did you touch/change other than the intake manifold.

Well they are going to pull the manifold because they believe that there is an internal vacuum leak and that the car is sucking air from the crankcase. They think the bottom of the gasket might have cracked or sliped or something. I will tell them to double check the TPS voltage. The thing is I did nothing else to mod the car. Just intake, no timing, no nothing, just intake. The car didn't give back any codes at all so that is why they think it is internal. It is at a chevy dealer with a guy who knows third gens so I hope he knows what he is talking about. UGH UHG. This is becoming an $900 intake install. Does it get any better
