What does this go to?

I recently replaced my EGR valve and noticed a hose (small, vacuum type) under the air cleaner that goes to nothing (it does not reach anything).

When the engine is running and I pinch the hose the car runs quiter and seems to idle lower. When I rev it up air is sucked through the hose and makes a whistling noise. I have noticed the whistling noise since i bought my car, but didn't find the problem until now.

What is this hose and where does it go?

Thanks for all your help

It goes in the front of ur TB unit. There is a small black needle looking thing sticking out of the front. Stick that hose on it.

See that silver thing on mine. I put duct tape on it so it would stick out for u. Thats the area the hose goes. Stick it on that needle and you'll be set.

If you have a TBI it probably goes to a pin on the bottom of the air cleaner. It's near the front of the air cleaner and a little to the passenger side. The pin has 2 prongs, one on each side of it, to kinda keep that hose from coming out. I think this may be what ur talking about.
