Alright fellas heres the deal....
i can buy a brand new 305 that puts
out 260 HP for $850 or i can try to
build up my TBI stock 305 w/ 72k miles
on it that cranks out 170HP... would it
be smarter to just get the new 305....
help me out.... thanks

for $850 are the rods are pistons any better than stock? you can get 260 HP out of a factory 305 pretty easy but you need to spin it much higher than stock and go with a single plane intake.

if you are swapping engines, you could build a decent 260hp 350 for 850. and have room left over to mod. if you buy a new 305. you wont have but another 80 hp that you could ever get, and it wouldnt be as drivable as a 340 hp 350.

just want something that i can line up
at the lights with ya know... as of now,
