Car won't start...HELP a fellow TBI man ;)

Had some installation problems with headers. Anyways, they were on, all happy...now...

We broke the coolant sensor (on passenger side, above knock sensor)...no biggie...

But there is a grey, oval-shaped harness on the driver's side, with what seems to be three wires going into it; orange, tan, and another tan/or yellowish wire. I have NO IDEA WHERE THIS GOES. NONE. The PROBLEM is, the car won't start. Everything else is connected fine, and the car mis/back fires. Smoke rises from the throttle body. Wires are all on correctly, plugs in tight, etc. WHAT THE HELL IS THE PROBLEM? I'm getting no error codes on my scanner. HELP!

this might be stupid but is it the wire going to the coil, one is black and one is gray, and if there was no spark it would backfire i would amagine from all of the fuel and flooding, i would look on my car but it is broken down somewhere but if it is not can you tell me about where it could be located at like on the underside of the engine, the top or the back and i will try to do my best.

It's a wire with a connector harness at the end located by the driver's side firewall...coming from around the back of the distributor or SOMETHING...I dunno! But it's right there on the driver's side...

ok looked at a pic that i had of my enigne and it looks like what you are talking about is the coil for sure because it is gray and it has a red and 2 tan or whiteish color wires, and it pluges into the back of the distributor. should be it but if not dont get too pissed
