well i have been considering getting a k&n air filter and a edlebroock air filter housing, would that work with my tbi? i think i have a fram 14" air filter on there now, and the stock housing, will i see an increase from this

i was looking at the edelbrock aircleaner, summit part #EDL-1207
will this work with my TBI, also i want to get a k&n air filter, the sizes summit had is 14x2.5 or 14x4", will the 14x4" fit under my hood???

14x3 is the biggest I've heard of fitting it a flat based air cleaner. A drop base one might fit a bigger filter but you won't get more power from it. The drop base air cleaner and stock spacer ring will really shroud the top of your TBI.

Why do you still have to use the spacer ring with the drop base? Does the housing hit something?

 

ya the throttle linkage. I tried 2 other open elements before I got the one I did. They were both edelbrock drop bases and I couldn't use them without with spacer ring.
