Edlebrock Intake/Cam kit

Im seriously thinkin about ordering the intake and cam kit for my 305 TBI in my 90 camaro RS...however i do not know how much work is involved. I know that in intake is basically stock replacement so i am sure i can do that myself but what kinda time am i lookin at for the cam? should i get it done professionally and what kinda bill would i be lookin at. Most importantly, anyone ever do this? any feedback? Thank you

the intake is good there are 2 probs withthe cam though, 1. it is only hydraulic, not hydreaulic roller like your stocker, 2. it is a piece of junk, you can get a lot better cam for a lot less money by going with a used LT1 cam.

I second that. The stock Lo3 cam with a roller cam setup (imagine the lifters rolling over the cam shaft). This is a far superior design to flat tap. You don't want to go backwards unless it's good for 330hp . The advantage of roller is you can get huge lift with small duration and this is all good. Definatly try and find an Lt1 cam because it'll work well with your stock roller setup and it isn't hard to install as long as you get the proper lube and install kit. You basically take off the waterpump, timing chain cover and timing chain. Then remove the radiator for room to remove cam. You need to find instructions for the install. You need to be careful when removing and installing. It has to be slow and straight or you'll damage a cam bearing.
That is basically it. I don't know the exact specifics on breaking in a new cam but it isn't hard to find instructions.
Oh yeah, and if you go with the Lt1 cam, remember to grind off the little *** at one end. You'll see it when you have the old cam out. If you don't it'll scrape against the timing cover.
