Airflow Enhancer

I keep seeing these " airflow enhancers " that replace the neck of the stock air cleaner. They always say that they only fit cars after modifications. So how do you have to modify them so they'll work. I'm worried about hood clearance because I have the taller truck lid and filter, and I plan to add the taller Performer TBI intake and a nitrous plate . I want my car to be a sleeper so a big cowl induction hood is not an option. I do have the Z28 twin blister hood on it though, does that help clearance?

Umm...no. The Z28 Power-Blisters just bolt onto a normal flat hood.

Yea hood clearence is a problem for these cars. If you dont want a Cowl hood you are about out of options. Jprevost has had to cut some of the bracing out from underneath the hood of his because of this.
I dont think a taller manifold and Nitrous plate will fit even witht he stock airfilter housing.

The performer has a better carb level (lower in front), this helps keep the 14x3 air cleaners under the hood. The RPM intake which I have is taller in the front and slightly more so in the rear. This makes the front of my air cleaner more of a clearance problem than the rear. I gotta work on this some more but I think I can get it to work.
