Since I haven't pieced together a fuel pressure guage yet,
I was wondering how "high" the tab on the FPR needs to be for the best performance.

Tune it with the performance, not by any set value. They're all different anyways, you'll range at least 2psi and that's a BIG difference.
Get your hands on a scanner and adjust the fuel pressure until your BLMs are around 126, this will be slightly rich but it's better than being lean. Okay?

Anyway, I've got a scanner in the garage collecting dust so I guess I'll get on it sonmetime next week.
Thanks!

Any automotive scanner. In this forum, there's a topic "Free scan software.." that gives you a link to some software, and instructions for building an interface cable to connect your car to your PC. If you look in the DIY-PROM section, you can get links to several software and hardware (handheld) scanners, with approximate prices and part numbers.
BLM is short for Block Learn Mode, which is also known as "long-term fuel trim". This is expressed on a scale from 0 - 255, where 128 is the point where the fuel is not being added or subtracted.
