Ok, finally putting a 350 TBI in

Well I sold the 88 to my friend Rick and got me a new z28. So with the car sitting idle we are now going to go through and put in a 350 in place of the 305. This is the one we are getting:

http://www.sdpc2000.com/cart.asp?act...id=120&pid=115

We are going to keep it TBI by picking up a 454 TBI unit and get some Edelbrock TES headers. I hear I will need at least a chip from a 350 Caprice. What else am I going to need? Do I need to change the alt, distributer? What type of intake do I need?

Thanx

thats what i got..
well you do it helps a lot to get a custom chip and you need a knock sensor and i dont know about the est moduel its working good for me, i used the preformer rpm intake manifold, and got some edelbroke headders for reall cheep and thats about it that i can think of now

you can reuse your water pump, distributor, alt, and just about every thing.

if you need more help feel free to email or aol im firbirdgta
theres a few other people on here with that engine, two of them are jprovest and z28 boy.

To use a caprice 350 eprom:
Get a 350 knock sensor, get a cop car eprom (ANLU), and most importantly, get a 89-92 TBI ecm! You need an 8746, the 88 is a 1228063 and won't except the cop car eprom. They use the same physical eprom but the programs on the eproms are different.
If you go with the RPM intake let me know through e-mail.

Yeah, I will tell Brian (Z28Boy) to check out ur thread next time I see him. From what I hear, everyone loves that engine. Brian just recently got rid of his Edelbrock Performer intake and bought the Air Gap one. So ask him how that works out for him when he puts it on.
