Code 32

90 model 350 C.I. sets code 32 when running at moderate speed sometimes 55 to 65 sometimes 35 to 45 and not much load.
Changed the e.c.m vacumn control but it still sets the code and gives steady light till turned off. What gives and how does it set the code?

Thanks Milt

Did you inspect the two thin, stiff (ie easily cracked) vacuum hoses running (1) from your throttle body to the EGR solenoid and (2) from the EGR solenoid to the EGR valve on the intake ?

If those are OK, it's probably a bad EGR valve. I think the ECM is trying to open your EGR valve when you're cruising at those speeds after the car has warmed, but that's not happening, so it sets the 32...

OR the hoses and vale is prolly fine just the passages for the EGR are clogged up with carbon.

I was getting the code 32 off and on for a while till when I had to pull of the manifold on my car. Then I saw all the passages clogged up with carbon.. Cleaned them all out and now I havent had a problem since the begining of the year with a code 32

This is the third time it has happened but i havent had time to check anything yet. why is it only when im in overdrive. THANKS for the help.
