Weiand 142 for use on 87-95 centerbolt heads

Question : Is there a 50-state legal Weiand 142 made to fit the 87+ centerbolt heads ?

If not, does anyone have any suggestions on other kits that do ?

I'm currently runing the Edelbrock Performer Heads #60859, and am looking for something to work with these heads.

I've searched + read about a few people running this blower so I'm hoping it's possible with these heads, but would really like a definate answer before I go plunking down 2k for the kit. Thanks.

You've hit on the combo you can't do. All of the supercharger kits are for 86-down heads (not 87-up bolt pattern) or Vortecs. They have short nose, long nose and X-long nose (to clear the air pump belt on later V-belt cars or a factory serpentine accessory setup) but none of them work with 87-up bolt pattern (centerbolt) heads.

An 86-down kit It can be made to work with some modification to the center manifold bolts, of course, but there is no direct bolt-on for 87-up heads. Link to the various available 142 kits:

Grinding the center 4 bolt holes is really a simple procedure and you can even get by with some large washers if you use a round allen head bolt as the flat sides of a std. hex bolt will get hung up on the angled surface. I've even seen some angled washers that take care of the mismatch. I've made some out of tubing as well.

Actually B&M makes a smog legal supercharger marketed for the 1993-1995 chevy truck. It bolts right up to the 1987-1995 bolt pattern, has EGR, and the correct prom for a 1993-1995 C1500 with an automatic.

Great info -- thx guys !

I was definately set on using the 142 if I could - and it sounds like it won't be much of a problem.
