lt1 Heads
I can get a good deal on lt1 cam/lt1 heads..
Using 350 lt1 heads on a l03 305 isnt a good idea right? as compression will drop...
wouldnt consider doing this right/

Re: lt1 Heads
Compression is the least of your worries. The LT1 head is a reverse cooling head and uses a different intake and block than an old school small block.
Guys have used LT1 heads on gen 1 blocks, but it requies extensive welding and machining and is NOT cost effective as a swap. Vortec heads will make more power and only cost 500$ brand new. They will drop your compression slightly but the power gain WELL offsets any loss from the compression.
