where to get a PCM extension harness

Is there any harness company making extension harnesses for the TBI PCMs? This is in reference to a truck with the PCM located behind the dash which is a PITA to remove everytime for a chip swap. I'm thinking around a 6 foot cable that will plug into my stock harness and just extend it. Is there any such animal being made? Thanks

Not that I know of, you could extend all the wires yourself but thats a pain.

Re: where to get a PCM extension harness

would not a prominator or ostrich work?

i have the prominator and for a couple years the ECU lay on floor of car. now it is under dash with a ribbon cable to laptop. the "chip" no longer is in place. the prominator holds the .bin. same with ostrich. prominator is permanent and ostrich is removable.

I never thought about as Ostrich as an alternative. They aren't exactly cheap but neither would be about 50 wires 5 to 6 feet long. I may have to consider that option.

Another idea I just had. Is there any sort of cable that plugs into my ZIF socket and then I could do a remote mount chip socket outside the PCM housing where I could get to the chip easily? Seems like that would be a really easy way of doing it. Moates has emulation cables which is where I got the idea but thats not exactly what I need. I suppose there's some reason nobody makes such a cable though.

To extend the actual EPROM socket out on a wire isn't easy. A foot or so can be done with decent ribbon cable and some shielding, but even at that it doesn't always work.

One method to extend the harness is to get one from a full size van ('88 - '92 or so). They have the ECM under the drivers seat with the harness being rather long. Would need to swap the whole harness, but it is still all one piece.
