which wire?

im doing my timing today. i need to disable the computer advance. i noticed on wire that near the distrub, i discovered it runs the factory tach. which one disables computer advance. i also read if you jump the diagnostic wire to ground on the ALDL connector (diagnostic connector) it will also disable computer advance. which is the best way?

Re: which wire?

The only way to disable the ECM control of timing is to uhook the brown wire with the black stripe. There is a single weather pak connector near the heater box, that's the one to unhook.
