Yet Another TBI 350 Lives!
Yet Another TBI 350 Lives!
Last week I started my 305 to 350 conversion for the first time. I have an 88SC that had a 305 Auto. It now has a 350 from 91-92 Caprice with a roller cam. It started at the first hit of the key with now issues. 2 days ago it passed PA emissions with flying colors on get this, THE FIRST CHIP. I have to give much thanks to BMmonteSS for alot of help behind the scenes. I was just getting ready to burn my second chip with VE table corrections when I smelled gas and saw a wet spot under the rear of the car. I guess the new Walbro 190 pump is getting installed sooner than I thought. As soon as I solve the fuel leak it's back to tuning. Again, thanks to BM as well as all the other folks posting great information on here.

Glad to hear you passed smog with it.
Just to let everyone know Chad did his 350 swap with a stock 305 TB and injectors and I believe only a 350 knock sensor. He did his homework and adjusted up his FP and compensated for the whole shebang in his chip. As you can see it fired right up and passed smog so he's doing something right.
Chad could you list all the parts you bought with a price summary? I bet your swap was relatively cheap.

Rough,
Thanks, I will try to get some photos together. They are not very impressive as I am just building a driver for work. I didn't do muchdress-up.
BM,
Thanks for the good words. You read my mind on posting the parts list. Do you think I should add it to this thread or the 350 swap sticky? or both? I picked up a pump last night to drain the gas tank. I'll try to drop it tonight and see what is going on. Any thoughts?

Re: Yet Another TBI 350 Lives!
Go ahead and post in both threads, never can have too much information. I'm interested in showing the before and after fuel tables with your relatively stock swap. I think guys fail to realize how much the tune changes with relatively small hardware changes. Which in turn is why TBI gets a bad rap for not producing power that people say it should.
Re: Yet Another TBI 350 Lives!
The car is back on the road. I got the fuel leak fixed (I Hope) and the Walbro 190 pump installed. I will try to get the parts list together over the next week and possibly some pictures. The second tune is going in tonight. I've got my fingers crossed.
