need info, may buy a tbi, please help
Hey guys im looking into buying an 89 camaro tbi 305. i hear that they are pretty heavy and slow stock. just wanna know if it will be decent with a open element air induction, better exhaust? also im not sure if im gonna go with the camaro or a 1987 firebird with a carburated 350. what will the power difference be between the two?

A stock '89 TBI car is about a 16.1 quarter mile. Adding an open element air filter and a 3" cat-back exhaust will make it about a 15.8 car.
An 87 Firebird with a carb 350 could be anywhere from 11 seconds to 16 seconds, since you've given us no other information about it. But, an '87 Trans Am or GTA with a stock 350 TPI would do about a 15.1 in the quarter mile.
