Someone help me with this 305 to 350 swap
I am trying to get the facts on a stock 305 tbi injected 92 bird. I want to keep the base 305 and add a 350 top. I do NOT want to take the 305 engine out of the car!! I figured out that I must...
1)Get 350 injectors
2)Get 350 Knock sensor
3)Get 350 caprice chip
4)Get 350 Electronic spark control module
5)Get 350 fuel pump (not required, but recommended)
Is this all I need or is there something I am missing?
The threads here get a little confusing after a while and I just want to use the smarts of the people here to see this modification through
Thanks

If you are going to be putting on 350 heads, I would at least shave them down to .0030 of an inch. Because they are prolly 64cc and you will be loosing compression.
Re: Someone help me with this 305 to 350 swap
If you are still going to be using the 305 short block you will not need to replace the injectors/ecs/knock sensor/or chip/prom. Even if you change the heads and intake you are still running a 305ci engine and that is what the computer wants to know!! THere would be no reason to change out the top end unless you are going to some Vortec heads or an aftermarket set of cylinder heads. WHat exactly are your intentions with your current engine?? Doing some basic mods like intake/cam/ and headers would give you some HP improvements over the stock set up. I hope that this helps some. When looking at the stickies concerning a 305to350 swap that all pertains to actually swapping in a 350ci engine.

pick your brand, the real question is what are your goals for your car. all this has been covered before. more low end, more top end, more engine noise, more mpg, 1/4 mile, top speed, daily driver with occasional blasts down the 1/4?
really the more info you give the more we can help.
