TV cable question
Alright, it's not from a thirdgen but hopefully someone has played around with something that has this style linkage. Can anyone tell me if the tab with the arrow pointing to it is meant for a tv cable? I know I CAN hook up to that, but I want to make sure that's what it's meant for and has the right pull/geometry for the tv cable. Don't want to damage the trans by having the cable hooked up wrong.

Re: TV cable question
Nope, that is NOT the TV linkage, that is for an extra throttle return spring. The TV cable uses the same setup as the throttle, just from the rear.

Re: TV cable question
Thanks for the info, glad I asked first. So it looks like I'll need to get a different throttle body. Mine's from a 94 s10, which had a 4L60E, so there's no groove for me to run the TV cable like on yours. There's only one slot for the throttle cable.

Re: TV cable question
One more question about the tv cable itself. Mine has a clip on style end. What application would I have to look up to find a cable with the little ball end like you're running? Is that a van?

Re: TV cable question
In all honesty, I never liked how the throttle cam TBIs ran compared to the normal rear pull units. GM went to the throttle cam to deaden the abrupt take-off you get with a TBI. The throttle response is very lame as it delays the initial throttle % opening over a longer distance of pedal travel. 1/2 throttle to run 60 mph gets old very fast. I would just get a throttle cable and TV cable for like a Chevy 1500 pickup and run the normal rear pull TBI unit.

Re: TV cable question
I can't use an S10 cable, because now that it's got a 350 the cable is too short... longer intake means the bracket is farther away from the throttle body. Looks like the one in your pic will work perfectly, shouldn't be hard to fine one in the junkyard, either. Thanks a lot for your help, I really appreciate it.
