Will the intake manifold from my 1988 305 tbi firebird fit on my 1995 Gmc pickup with a tbi 350? From what I've found searching Im pretty sure it will but I want to know for sure before I start taking stuff apart. Thanks in advance. Ryan.

Re: intake
It is a bit tough to say Ryan.
1996 was the first year of Vortec engine. Yours truck is a 1995 GMC, but which engine (350) do you have??? If you have a conventional non Vortec engine then intake should bolt up. You can ID vortec heads if a factory installed EGR uses external exhaust plumbing (pipe). You can easily tell if you have Vortec heads on GMC by looking at the bolts that hold the intake manifold to the cylinder head. On a Vortec engine, there are 8 intake manifold bolts that go straight down into the head. A non-vortec engine has 12 intake manifold bolts that go in at an angle. Factory installed Vortec heads were available under 2 casting numbers 10239906 and 12558062 - pull valve cover. Another clue that factory Vortec heads (L31) do not have an exhaust crossover passage found in conventional (factory, Gen 1) SBC heads.
Why do you want to swap manifolds??? Factory manifolds are just that - very restrictive, not performance oriented per see.

Re: intake
Thanks for the info. There are twelve bolts that go in on an angle so I guess its non-vortec. I am having issues with the intake manifold on the truck and the car is off the road so in case I need a temporary cheap fix I was just wondering if they were interchangable.
