I had to put a new intake manifold gasket on my 92 LO3 motor yesterday. So obviously I had to disconnect the TBI and everything else. I noticed when I reinstalled it that the injectors themselves are very loud. They are making a very loud tapping noise. I double checked all my connections and everything seems like its hooked up fine. Seems to be pulsating the fuel spray on both a tad as well. I didn't notice this before so I assume its something I did when I reinstalled it, but I'm lost. Anything that I could have done to cause this, or are my injectors just fried?

 

sounds like everything is working right two me, the tapping sound is a good thing, when the injectors are not tapping and just dumping fuel in is a bad thing

 

Cool, I'm just imagining things then. That or it seems like I inadvertantly advanced the timing a little so maybe it's dumping a little more fuel at idle. Either way, ahhh breathe easy, lol

 

Did you put your air cleaner all back together and listen to it again? It's probably normal, TBI injectors are notoriously loud when they're exposed.
